This short 360º video, taken from a drone above Fordwich, shows the ecological connectivity between the Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve / International Wetland Site and the Old Park & Chequers Wood Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). There are just a few hundred metres between them.
As you watch the video, see what you can spot! Here’s the rotational order:
• East along the Stour towards the Stodmarsh wetlands (look out for Canoe Wild next to the river)
• South towards the ancient woodland complex of the Trenley Park Local Nature Reserve
• West towards the acid grassland and ancient woodland of Old Park & Chequers Wood (with the city of Canterbury in the background)
• North-west towards the Sturry Road Community Park (look out for the circus!)
• North towards Sturry
• Back east back to Fordwich (the smallest community by population in Britian with its own Town Council) and a final view towards Stodmarsh.
We are extremely grateful to John Pahl for producing the video for us.
